Páprika
is Brooklyn's own all-female worldbeat dance jam band. From a central core of
Brazilian and Caribbean repertoire, through intoxicating forays into music of
the Mediterranean, Near and Far East and Africa to rocking originals they create
a shimmering web of language, melody and rhythm. Páprika plays a variety
of music that is continually unexpected and irresistibly danceable. These six
women have delighted audiences at the Starwood Festival, Michigan Women's Music
Festival, Central Park Earth Day Celebration, CampOutVA Music Festival, Brooklyn
Botanical Garden, DUMBO Chili Crab Fest and numerous street fairs and parades
including Coney Island's Mermaid Parade, Brooklyn Children's Halloween Parade,
New Hope Celebrates, New York City, Northampton, MA and Allentown, PA Pride
Festivals. They have also performed at many of NYC's finest music clubs including
The Knitting Factory, SOB's, Makor and Joe’s Pub.
